What does sustainability mean to Coventry University?

Sustainability weaves across the University; through operational impacts, the benefits our research brings to local and global challenges, the volunteering activities our students undertake, our place within the local community, the knowledge and skills shared on and off campus and the partnerships and collaborations we bring.

It is a core part of our values of student engagement, innovative enterprising, sustainable partnerships, integrity and responsibility, not just in terms of delivering these values, but also ensuring that remain a key part of all University practices for the foreseeable future.

Coventry University is incorporating sustainable development through Curriculum 2025, and use this approach to inspire staff and students, benefit society and environment, and support a responsible future.

"Through the NUS sustainability survey, we are able to regularly collate students' opinions. In the most recent survey findings, two thirds of respondents want to learn more about sustainability, and we have used their responses to help draft this statement".

The University has a number of teams working on sustainability activities, including the Environment team in Estates; CSR team in Marketing and External Affairs; Coventry University Students Union; academic and research teams such as the School of Energy, Construction and Environment; the Centre for Business in Society; and the Centre for Trust, Peace and Human Relations, and many more. Further resources by Academic Development can be found on Education for Sustainable Development.
